Alright, so after an extremely casual internet search on my new favourite team in a game that does not interest me at all, I’m not going to lie…My belief in them is stronger than ever!
Yes, I have had to endure the full-on laughter of my husband on the daily regarding my ‘absurd’ choice, and yes, he has hinted at a few blemishes on their record professionally and individually. However, they didn’t have me as a fan, and this is all new to me. They are lucky to be starting out on a fresh slate with this newbie. Plus, they are going to take home the Superbowl this year, win the big one, so there is always that!
What did I find out?
I’m glad you asked, my team the mighty Houston Texans have had a stellar pre-season with winning all three games, this is a great starting point (I’m assuming to any sport), of course that may very well change when the games mean something.
The first time I see them play live will be 3am our time Monday 12th September. That is a HUGE commitment for somebody reluctant to acknowledge this as a ‘good’ sport. Don’t let me down boys!
I had a peruse of the player list and I can honestly say I have not heard of anyone of them, however, that only leaves room for honest and unbiased interpretation of the game and their skills.
This stellar team has been playing in the league since 2002 making them the young Bulls of the game. This was a fun fact, they have been division champions six times, but that’s as far as they have gone (Until now!).
With the great Coach Lovie Smith leading the boys, I have no doubt in my mind he will aid this marvellous team in securing their first Superbowl. He did after all get the Bears there back in 2006.
With kick off tomorrow, I thought it were time to share my picks for this round, the following is who I feel will be worth throwing your weight behind for the beginning of the season. Now, take these predictions with a grain of salt as keeping in mind I still do not know anything about the game, players, or teams…That being said, I am a punter, so I like to have a little roll of the dice and would be over the moon excited to even just get one up on my husband!

I came to these projections for round one by included all my divisional winners from our podcast. I figure they will jump out of the gate fighting. I then purely chose from logo and names. Perhaps in a few weeks’ time I will have a bit more understanding of individual team’s strengths and weaknesses. That’s if George can convince me it’s worth my time…
What I learnt when tipping this round is there can be up to nine games playing at one time. How do you ever keep up with the excitement…Oh yeah, that’s right; this is what lacks in most of the games. That and they go on forever.
Another interesting titbit I picked up was that several teams are playing in opposite conferences, which I didn’t realise they do before playoffs…
